The Remembrance of Allah

The Easiest Act of Worship

Wa Ba'd:

All acts of Ibadah contained in the Divine laws are designed to help humans
remember Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala - Most Gracious and Exalted. It
is natural for human beings to sometimes forget even the most important
things. Humans often become so preoccupied with the accumulation of worldly
and material needs and desires that they totally forget their spiritual
needs. Almighty Rabbul Ala'meen is addressing us in verses 41 and 42 of
Surah Al Ahzab so let us pay heed to our obligations which we are to carry
out every day of our lives as the elected Vicegerents of our Most Glorious
Creator - Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal. What are we waiting for? Our time to
stand up and to be counted amongst the Shepherds of mankind has arrived and
together under the banner of Taqwa and Tawhid, let us strengthen the centre
and junction that links us together as a united universal Ummah of the
Beloved of Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala.

"O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance.
And glorify His Praises morning and after noon
[the early morning (Fajr) and 'Asr prayers]."

Almighty Allah Most Gracious informs us in verse 21 of Surah Al Ahzab with
words of wisdom and with the expression of fact that we have the psychology
of the Believers - God-fearing people, led by the pattern of men and of
leaders, Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam.

"Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good
example to follow for him who hopes for (the meeting with)
Allah and Last Day, and remembers Allah much."

Remembrance of Almighty Allah is the easiest among all other acts of
worship, you can practice remembrance without ablution (Wudhu) and wherever
you are. Women can practice it even when they have their menses. The
believers are encouraged to remember Almighty Allah as much as possible.
Remembrance of Allah is stressed because sin is generally committed when
Almighty Allah is forgotten. Shaythaan doesn't work on you, when you
remember Allah; the forces of Shaythaan operate when the consciousness of
Rabbul Ala'meen is lost for we are reminded of this verse 19 of Surah Al
Mujaddilah:

"Shaythaan has overpowered them. So he has made them forget the remembrance
of Allah.
They are the party of Shaythaan. Verily, it is the party of Shaythaan that
will be perish!"

Mankind's original nature (Fithrah) as created by Almighty Allah is good. It
is because mankind, in spite of the warning he has received, allows Evil to
get the mastery over him, that he forgets his Glorious Creator and Maker and
the divine qualities which Almighty Rabbul Ala'meen gave him. The result of
the perversion is that man becomes a partisan of Evil, and as such dooms
himself to perdition. One would ask why? Why should we practice it
abundantly? The answer is very simple remembrance of Allah is the opposite
of forgetting Him. We we are after all talking about remembering Allah -
our Most Glorious Creator and Sustainer. Almighty Allah reminds us in verse
45 of Al Anfal:

"O you who believe! When you meet (an enemy) force,
take a firm stand against them and remember the Name
of Allah much (both with tongue and mind), so that you
may be successful."

And in verse 35 of Surah Al Ahzab:

"Verily , the Muslims (those who submit to Allah in Islam) men and women,
the believers men and women (who believe in Islamic Monotheism), the men and
the women who are obedient (to Allah), the men and the women who are
truthful (in their speech and deeds) , the men and the women who are patient
(in performing all the duties which Allah has ordered and in abstaining from
all that Allah has forbidden), the men and the women who are humble (before
their Lord-Allah), the men and the women who give Sadaqa (i.e. Zakat , and
alms), the men and the women who observe Saum (fast) (the obligatory fasting
during the month of Ramadan, and the optional Nawafil fasting ), the men and
the women who guard their chastity (from illegal sexual acts) and the men
and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues, Allah
has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward ( i.e. Paradise)."

We spend time going to school and to work, etc. So, why not spend that
travel or walking time remembering Allah? Our time in this life is so
precious, we will be held accountable for every single minute, each and
every minute should be used in doing something for the sake of Almighty
Allah. So, invest the time you spend in transportation in remembering Allah,
say Subhan Allah, Alhumdulillah, Allah Akbar, La Ilaha Illa Allah , La Hawla
Wa la Quwata Illa bilah ?.etc. Benefits of Remembering Allah. Allah tells us
in verse 152 of Surah Al-Baqara:

"Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be grateful to Me
(for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me."

I think this verse in itself is enough to keep your heart attached to the
remembrance of Allah. Who would not love to be remembered by Allah? It is
very simple and easy, and it only needs practice and you'll find yourself
doing it without even thinking. As soon as you ride your car or a taxi
you'll find yourself remembering Allah and remind yourself that Allah is now
remembering you. It will make all the difference in your day. Everybody
should set for herself/himself daily a fixed amount of time for he/she to
practice this act of worship, let it be half an hour to start with, and it
doesn't need special arrangement, like standing up or making Wudhu, it can
be practiced everywhere and anytime. We are assured of great blessings in
verse 28 of Surah Al Rad:

"Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and whose
hearts
find rest in the remembrance of Allah: verily in the remembrance of Allah do
hearts find rest."

And in Verse 41 of Surah Al Nur Almighty Allah tells us:

"Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens
and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread?
Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah Knows
well all that they do,"

This verse is a call for whoever is distressed, in pain, depressed, or
facing any hardship. He is giving you the remedy. Allah created you and He
knows exactly what is in your heart, He created it and He knows how it
works. Allah is telling you that your heart- the heart he has created - will
find rest only in remembering Him.
Life nowadays is being so hard on everybody; everybody is suffering from
something, family problems, financial hardships, and emptiness. Remembering
Almighty Allah is the key to easing our pains and to find tranquility and
peace. What Happens When One Forgets Allah? The answer to this frightening
question is
found in verses 124 to 126 of Surah Ta Ha where the warning has been made
crystal clear.

"But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily, for him is a life
narrowed down,
and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgement (124). He will say:
"O my Lord! Why has Thou raised me up blind, while I had sight (before).
"(125) Allah will say: "Thus did thou, when our Signs (proofs, evidences,
verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you
disregarded
them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away
from them), and so this Day, you will be disregarded."

The consequences of the rejection of Allah's Guidance are here expressed
more individually: a life narrowed down, and a blindness that will persist
beyond this life. A life 'narrowed down' has many implications: (1) it is a
life from which all the beneficent influences of Allah's wide world are
excluded; (2) it is a life for Self, not for all; (3) in looking exclusively
to the "good things" of this life, it misses the true Reality.Rahmathul Liel
Ala'meen who led humanity out of darkness and into the light and onto the
Path of Seerathal Mustaqeem is reported to have said:

"The example of the one who remembers Allah in comparison to the one
who does not rememberAllah, is that of a living creature and a dead one."

Hearts only live by remembering Allah. Our hearts are sound only when it is
filled with the love of Allah, and remembering Him. We give our hearts life
when we remember Allah. One day a man came to our Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi
Wasallam and he said: "O Messenger of Allah, the doors of good deeds are far
too many and I can't enter them all, so tell me about something to which I
can hold on and don't overburden me, so that I may not forget." The Nabee
Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam replied "Keep your tongue busy remembering
Allah."
When a Muh'min remembers Almighty Allah, he or she will find himself or
herself automatically acquiring all the good manners of Islam, they will
find all acts of worship easy, and will achieve the purification of their
hearts, which is the step that ultimately leads to Janna'h - Insha'Allah;
Bie Itt'nillah.

Our Beloved Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam said: "Shall I tell you about
the best of your deeds, most honorable in the sight of Allah, and the most
deserving of reward better than possessing gold and silver, and better than
meeting your enemies and beating them". The companions said: "Yes, O
Messenger of Allah. He said: The remembrance of Allah".

The translation of Almighty Allah Jallah Wa'ala's words in a Hadith Qudsi:

" I am near to the thought of my slave who thinks about Me, and I am with my
slave who remembers Me, and if my slave remembers Me in an assembly I
remember him/her in an assembly, and if he or she approaches to me a span
of a palm, I approach to him or her by a cubit, and if he or she approaches
to Me by a cubit I approach to him or her by the span of the out stretched
arms. And if he or she walks towards Me, I hurry towards him or her."

Can anybody think of anything as honorable as Almighty Allah Rabbul Ala'meen
hurrying to him or her. What else on earth can capture the heart of a
Muh'min more than Almighty Allah Azza Wajjal hurrying to meet him or her? To
be successful in struggle, we must remember our Most Glorious Creator and
Sustainer, and we must develop the ability to do good deeds, to have good
behavior. Allah is the Sovereign; therefore Allah gives the power and
authority to whom He chooses, to whomever pleases Allah. Our job, our role
in life, is to please Allah, for Allah has said that He has created Jinn and
mankind but to worship Him.

In conclusion may I remind myself and all my Muslim brothers and sisters:
It is a real jungle that is occurring out there. We can all mess around if
we want to juggle around with certain things, but in the end, we will find
out that the consequences of these things are just what Almighty Allah
Subhanahu Wata'ala said they would be.
We, as Muslims, should be foremost in giving an alternative, in standing out
so that people, on the basis of sight, will say,"......he is a Muslim or she
is a Muslim." We, thereby, provide a support for someone's desire to be
right, to do the right thing. We, as Muslims, must provide an example to the
lost brothers and sisters around us, in the very same way that our Beloved
Nabee Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam provides an example for us.

And Allah knows best.

Was Salamualaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu.
