The Muslims internet directory was established in 1999 as a Personal web site, between the years 1999-2002 we have added many features and activities.

Early in 2003 the Islamic education & Services Institute sponsored the whole site as its own project. since then we have we are growing up dramatically from less than 100 pages to over 200000 pages. We have several partnerships to provide you with e-mail, search, community and a lot more. Our site is being updated on a Regular basis.

Our site receives over 3,500,000 hits a month and growing.

What is the Islamic Education And services INSTITUTE?

The Islamic Education and services institute is a non profit organization that was established in Chattanooga, Tennessee in June 2003 with permit number: 0448281.The IESI is dedicated to serve Islam and Muslims in North America.

 

IESI Vision:

To be a leading force in providing Islamic education and social services to Muslims and non Muslims.

 

Mission & Objectives:

To serve the American Muslims and non Muslims population by providing educational materials about Islam and Muslims through events, books, lectures, interfaith meetings, media interviews, dialogues, books donations to libraries and schools, and much more.

The IESI aims to provide social services to those in need in our society.

The IESI aims to improve the knowledge and understanding of Islam among all people, and elevate the image of Islam and Muslims among non Muslims in general, and remove the misinformation, misunderstanding, misperception, and misapprehension about Islam and Muslims.

To achieve these objectives, the IESI is committed to provide correct information from accredited sources about Islam, the Islamic beliefs, history, practices, and civilization, and to use all the tools available within the Islamic guidelines and our capabilities to achieve these goals.

 

IESI Team:

The IESI consists of over 11,000 members, and 65 active editors. The IESI members belong to many nationalities, religions, races, and ethical groups.

 

IESI Ethics

All of the IESI work is in line with the Islamic rules and The USA laws. The IESI seeks attorneys, scholars, and experts advice on regular basis, for any activity it plans, some of references are: Muhammad alhanoti, Jamal Badawi, Ahmad Sakr, and Nihad Awad.

The IESI has built many partnerships and affiliations with many organizations that work on the same issues the IESI works on.

Some of these organizations are: CAIR, ISNA, III&E, PBS, Allied arts, IQRA, United Way, Google, Women Council on diversity, & Partnership of Chattanooga.

 

Projects and activities:

1.       Online presence www.2muslims.com: The IESI has built an internationally recognized Islamic presence online with tens of unique services to Muslims and non Muslims worldwide in many languages. The overall service receives over 42 million hits a year.  Some of the most popular services are:

a.         Searchable Islamic sites database.

b.         Comprehensive Quran & Hadith tools.

c.         Islamic Discussions & Forum.

d.         Free Islamic Downloads collection.

e.         Huge Islamic Library.

f.          Kid�s corner and games.

g.         Free email account.

h.         Webmaster tools and resources.

i.           Polls, Classifieds, news and more.

2.       Libraries project: The IESI is committed to provide area libraries with the best books about Islam. Over 2000 free books and booklets have been donated to libraries in the Chattanooga area so far.

3.      Publications: The IESI is committed to develop and publish accredited Islamic materials about Islam. So far over 50 pieces of unique and concise pieces of literature for Muslims and non Muslims have been developed. Each publication was inspected by a scholar and/or an editor for accuracy. The IESI has distributed over 250,000 hard copies and 1.5 million e-copies so far.

4.      Islamic Literature by Mail:  This program aims to reach out to those outside the Chattanooga area. Any non Muslim or new Muslim can order a package about Islam, and the IESI will simply mail it to them free. (Over 1500 letters annually).

5.      Islamic virtual Library: was launched in 2004, and it has over 1200 full text books and booklets in many languages and increasing. So far these books were read over one million times.

6.      Islamic information by email: Active correspondence with people searching for information about Islam online. An average of 75 emails are received daily and around %5-20 require a respond

7.      Quran Multi Language Library:  In 2005 The IESI launched the Quran Project which aims to put a searchable database of the holy Quran in all languages possible. So far we have around 20 languages. This is one of a kind in the whole world.

8.      Media Outreach:  it aims to keep the media up to date with the Islamic Holidays, events, and stands on many issues through a regular mail out program.

9.       Interfaith & Dialogue:  This program aims to connect and communicate with other groups, faiths and organizations, and reach out to them with the message of Islam and its stand on their issues.

10.   Training Muslims:  The IESI have initiated seminars and training courses for Muslims over the last few years. The IESI has also actively provided Muslims with materials to help them understand certain Islamic occasions and issues.

11.   Women Services: The IESI offers a wide variety of free classes and educational and religious workshops to all the women of the community. All provided through The Muslim Women Society of Chattanooga

12.   Lectures about Islam: The IESI has been giving lectures about Islam in many schools, universities and colleges. In an average of 10 lectures a year.

13.   Prisons outreach: we actively support several Islamic outreach groups targeting prisons in and out of Chattanooga.

14.   Presenting Islam in our neighborhood: The IESI has actively engaged in area conferences, exhibits, events, and activities, through sponsorship, participation, advertising, or volunteering, to present, teach, and educate non Muslims about Islam. Over the past two years the IESI has engaged in over 40 such activities that have helped the institute reach over 15,000 people, and distribute over 40,000 pieces of literature about Islam.

15.   Chattanooga Muslims: The IESI has established a Chattanooga Muslims site to help Muslims learn about Chattanooga and the Muslims in it, and provide many needed services to Muslims in the area.

16.      Social activities: The IESI has been conducting social activities and services for Muslims and their families in the Chattanooga area. Some examples are: Eid parties, weddings, and more. The IESI also has a support team to help Muslims in need at time of sickness, birth, death, and more.

17.      New Muslims: The IESI strives to integrate new Muslims into the Muslim community and train them to have the information they need to practice and understand Islam properly.

Future plans:

The IESI has many planned activities, some of which include:

�    Continue on with previously mentioned activities, and expand them to new grounds and levels.

�         Continue to expand the online services.

�         Publish new titles and literature, including Muslims Q & A, New Muslims hand book, and Islamic literature in Spanish.

�         Take the message of Islam to TV, newspapers, radio and other media outlets.
