Dear brothers and sisters in Islam:
You have heard the news...
• Magnitude 7.7 Earthquake struck Pakistan, Kashmir, India, and Afghanistan
• More than 30,000 People Reported Killed so far.
• Associated Press estimates the death toll could reach more than 40,000.
• Estimated 20% of the dead are children..
• Villagers are digging with their bare hands to rescue survivors.
• Entire towns have been leveled by the quake.
• About 43,000 people were injured in Rawalpindi alone.
This devastating earthquake has struck early Saturday morning, October 8, 2005. Its affects were felt across a wide swath of South Asia from central Afghanistan to western Bangladesh, swaying buildings in the capitals of three nations. Its damage reached at least 250 miles from Jalalabad in Afghanistan, to Srinagar in northern Indian territory, collapsing a ten-story building in Islamabad.
The quake has flattened dozens of villages and towns in the mountains of Kashmir near its epicenter, crushing schools with their students still inside. The Associated Press reported that in the village of Balakot, 250 pupils were feared trapped inside the rubble of their four-story school. Government help has not yet reached this village that sits in the North West Frontier Province about 60 miles north of Islamabad, where at least a dozen bodies lie in the streets.
There is no doubt that this quake has brought unimaginable horrors to the people of this area..
it is RAMADAN and we should feel for our brothers and sisters in that area and give them the most we can.. Allah says “By no means shall you attain righteousness, unless you give of that which you love.” (Quran 3:92), and what is a better time to spend than Ramadan.
if you can eat a good meal tonight, know that over 250,000 Pakistani and Indian brothers and sisters will go to sleep hungry..
if you can sleep on a good bed tonight, know that over 100,000 Pakistani and Indian brothers and sisters have no place to sleep tonight...
Every penny you can give is mostly needed..
we have researched the quickest way to help and the following three organizations have set up a n online donations centers for this purpose specifically, they already have people on the ground working and helping and your help can get there very quickly through them enshallah.. they are all in compliance as far as we know with all the USA/IRS donation guidelines.
