Danish cartoons again of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Can't Post

Press release by the Ramadhan Foundation

THE DEPICTION OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH) AGAIN IN DENMARK IS TRYING TO PROVOKING MUSLIMS

Published: 08/10/2006 08:00

The Ramadhan Foundation today attacks the Danish Peoples Party who are an ally of the Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who carried out a youth wing competition to depict Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is another example of the continued attack on Muslims and our faith, when will those in West realise we cannot allow these right wing extremists to whip up hatred towards Islam. How many more times can these people attack Islam and hurt Muslims before the Governments and societies realise this cannot continue.
We also condemn Danish State Television for broadcasting amateur video footage of the youth wing camp, there are some questions that need to be asked in regards to ethical broadcasting. Have the Danish media not learnt the lesson from the previous scandal of the cartoons.
Governments are telling Muslims to watch their children to stop them being brainwashed into extremism and terrorism but their own children are openly taught to hate and despise Muslims and Islam, where is the tolerance and peace gone to.
We will not allow the West to try to hide behind freedom of speech; this is premeditated hatred that is being indoctrinated into children and young people in Europe. At such difficult times political parties and societies should be teaching equality, tolerance and peaceful co existence not hatred and prejudice. This is how the Nazis carried out their oppression in the 20th century.
Mr Mohammed Shafiq, Press Spokesman of the Foundation comments:
"Here we are again being attacked by those that know how to hurt Muslims the most, by depicting cartoons of the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). What is surprising is that this comes in the aftermath of the previous cartoons, Pope Benedict's comments and Jack Straw's attack on freedom of choice for Muslim women to wear the veil and is another example of Europe allowing open Islamphobia to exist in our societies.
We hear from European leaders that Muslims are creating an atmosphere of hate and violence in our countries - well after this second Danish crisis I think those leaders now need to take responsibility for these problems - they have fuelled this hatred and they must call for it to stop and stop now.
The Ramadhan Foundation also calls on Muslims around the world to remain calm and observe patience against these cartoons; we must not allow the extremists in Denmark to provoke the wrong reaction from our community.
We urge all faith communities to come together to put a stop to this liberal nonsense of attacking faith and their figures - we must stand united together"
END

Re: [ramadhanfoun] Danish cartoons again of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) [In reply to] Can't Post

Every critical idea expressed concerning Islam is not an attack. Such comments might simply be neutral observations, but because of the bigotry of Muslims, they distort the idea expressed into some kind of attack or provocation that permits them to take violent or forceful action to silence the critic and the criticism.

Islam is not perfect, and neither are Muslims, so they like any other group must permit their faults to be openly discussed without getting defensive about the comments.

When Muslims in the West become defensive about comments made under free-speech protections, they play right into the hands of people who advocate shipping all Muslims out of the West and back to their third-world Arab countries.

When anyone emigrates to a new land, he/she must be willing to adapt to the cultural/language norms of the new place; he/she cannot realistically expect the new land to change just to accomodate his/her religious sensitivities. This is especially true for Muslims. If they can't live by those conditions, then they should remain in their native countries. No one is begging Muslims to come to the West so they can disrupt our societies, create trouble, and destroy the peace of our civilizations.
