Qara |
Qara is located 100 Km. north of Damascus west of the Damascus-Homs road. It is best known for the wall drawings in the church of Mar Sarkis. Other beautiful 12th century drawings have been discovered in Deir Mar Ya'qoub. *On the skirts of the semi-desert, there are many other archaeological sites. The most important, Ad'dmeir, located 42 Km. from Damascus on the Damascus-Baghdad road, where ancient traveller's tales led to the excavation and discovery of the famous temple.
*In short, a visit to the countryside of Damascus will enable the person to enjoy the beauty of nature, discover a bridge betwwe the past and the present and above all, enrich the life with memories that time can not erase.
