Assalamu Alalikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh ("May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.") We the humans living in this earth are different from each other in many respects. The Holy Quran speaks of the various subtleties in the most eloquent words: “Among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colors: verily in that are Signs for those who know�. (30:22) In another profound verse of the Quran, Allah (The God) explains to us that essentially we all came from a single soul; the purpose for differences among ourselves; what should we do about this apparent difference among humans; and probably more importantly, how should we judge each other, the inhabitants of this planet. "O mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know one another. Truly the most honored of you in God’s sight is the greatest of you in piety. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware.� (49:13) Finally, reminder for the Muslims that Islam is the middle path: "Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you.� 2:143 Therefore the path of Islam is the middle path, not extremism one-way or the other. Our wish is that this Group will work to remove misconceptions and foster understanding and tolerance among each other (including between Muslims). May Allah guide us all. Ameen.
